Glassware & Media Technician

We currently, we have an opening for a Glassware & Media Technician

**The Glassware Media Technician is responsible for cleaning and preparing laboratory glassware/plasticware/tools to ensure that the analysis can proceed as necessary. This position will also prepare media for the Ames assay laboratory and reagents for tissue culture work.**

**Primary responsibilities of the job**:

- Cleaning, packing and sterilizing of glassware/plasticware/tools
- Preparation of media and solutions used for the Ames Assay
- General laboratory upkeep (e.g. Cleaning, Maintenance and verification
- of balances, autoclave, oven, water systems etc.)
- General or as requested housekeeping and cleaning of the biological activity
- Laboratory, including receiving.
- Biological waste disposal, as required
- The employee shall implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform their duties in accordance to existing project specific requirements, current Test Methods, study plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Compliance to Health & Safety policies and procedures and wear required Personal Protective equipment at all Times

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- ** B.Sc. in Toxicology or Microbiology or Cell Biology**
- ** Graduate from medical laboratory technologist program preferred**
- Knowledge of and experience with microbiological/tissue culture principles and techniques_, 1-2 years preferred_
