We are looking to fill the role of **Payroll/Payables Coordinator.** This position is integral to the success of our company, and includes regular interaction with all our customers, whom we define as clients, partners, and fellow employees.

As our Payroll/Payables Coordinator, you will contribute to our team by:
**Payroll**
- Weekly time processing in Construction Software (BuilderTrend), including but not limited to review of Manager approvals and Time off reporting
- Process transfer of time to QuickBooks for payroll processing and complete reconciliation to confirm transfer.
- Process Commissions for inclusion on payroll
- Process biweekly payroll in QuickBooks
- Prepare, reconcile, and submit all payroll related remittances, i.e., Source Deductions, EHT, WSIB
- Reconcile payroll related GL accounts
- Lead the year-end payroll process and reporting of T4’s
- Review and analyze current payroll procedures to recommend and implement changes leading to best practice operation
- Answer employee inquiries and investigate discrepancies

**Accounts Payable**
- Working in Construction software (BuilderTrend), attach incoming invoices to purchase orders and release to QuickBooks for financial processing.
- Work with Project Managers to ensure all invoice discrepancies are reconciled/approved weekly.
- Credit card reconciliation
- Bi-monthly cheque processing
- Build strong and mutually respectful relationships with all suppliers.
- Monitor Vendor Deposits for completion for month end Work-in-Progress calculations
- Assist with year-end procedures as assigned.

The Payroll/Payables Coordinator will also work with our Finance team to design new procedures or improve current processes that in turn support the strategy and goals of Amsted.

What you will bring to the role:

- Educational background in Finance and/or Payroll is the foundation for your strong understanding of full-cycle accounting and accounting principles.
- 2+ years of Payroll experience, including year-end processing required. You must possess a strong understanding of payroll processes and legislation. Experience with HR and Benefits is considered an asset.
- 2-5 years of progressive experience in the construction or other project-based environment is highly desirable.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and professional judgment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, including strict confidentiality.
- Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Previous experience with QuickBooks, or similar accounting software
- Knowledge of/experience with a Construction Management Software an asset

This is an on-site, full-time position located at our Head Office in Stittsville. Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
