**About the Toronto Public Library**
Toronto Public Library is the biggest and busiest public library system in North America, with more than 46 million annual visits to our branches and online. TPL has 100 branches and two bookmobiles that serve neighbourhoods across the city; we also provide 24/7 access to collections and services through tpl.ca. Our collections include 10.5 million items, such as books, CDs, DVDs and eBooks, with 40 languages represented.
**Types of Positions we are / will be hiring for externally**:
**Librarians**: To provide professional direct and indirect customer service (Graduate degree in Library or Information Science is a requirement).
**Pages**: A Page's job is to sort and shelve books and other library materials and to shelf read.
**Senior Public Service Assistants**:To provide customer service and administer the shelving and shelf-reading activities in a branch.
**Public Service Assistants**: Under the direction of the designated supervisor, performs, as assigned, the complete range of clerical duties necessary for the operation of the branch or department. Assists staff in the performance of specialized responsibilities. Assists patrons under the guidance of the librarian in charge
**Senior Library Assistants**:Under the direction of the designated supervisor, participates in the direction and supervision of the overall branch service programme. Supervises assistants and pages in the assigned areas of work. Takes responsibility for performing and/or coordinating more complex tasks.
**Sunday Positions**:Various positions will be available to work solely on Sunday’s.
