**Job Purpose**:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, North American Training, the HS&E Training Specialist will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of Health, Safety and Environmental related content. The role will assess learning needs and in collaboration with the Health & Safety Team determine effective interventions to promote a Zero Harm Culture. This role will have primary accountability of the Superior Propane Driver Training Program and partner with Health and Safety in the U.S. to identify opportunities for training efficiencies. This position can be based out of Cambridge, ON or Calgary, AB and falls within our hybrid work model.
**Key Objectives**:
- Provide analytical insight using data from the LMS and HSE platforms (eg. Incident Reporting) to identify trends, opportunities for improvement and determine learning priorities
- Continually evaluate HSE training content and provide recommendations on improvement for content development and delivery
- Responsible for Driver Training program aligning training programs and content to support safe driving behaviours. Support the development of the Driver Trainers and collaborate with internal Stakeholders on the success of the program (eg. Leadership, Fleet, Reg & Tech)
- Leads the scoping of proposed learning and/or performance solutions for small to medium and/or moderately complex learning needs, preparing high level design document and associated budget/resource requirements for approval
- Develop on line, face to face and virtual instructor led sessions so that materials support the identified Safety related objectives
- Identify the use of external resources and partner to create aligned training specific to the Organization
- Other supporting activities as directed by HSE and Training
**Education, Experience and Qualities**:
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Terminology, Legislation and best practices
- Knowledge and understanding of Canadian and Provincial Occupational Health and Safety regulations and codes considered an asset
- 5-7 years of experience in a training role with focus on HSE
- Post-Secondary education in a related discipline
- Proven proficiency facilitating face to face and virtual instructor led training sessions, including associated technology. Experience creating training material that is learner driven and experiential based.
- Experience working in at least one learning management system and multiple learning authoring tools
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a national team as well as independently, possessing a high degree of initiative, energy, common sense, and logical thinking
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with peers, employees, external customers, and other stakeholders.
