Human Resources Generalist

**Summary Statement**:
The Human Resources Generalist will provide support to the company and work with business leaders and associates within OMCAN to implement and deliver key HR processes and programs. This role is responsible for assisting in providing strategic HR support in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition, compliance, diversity, performance management, HR analysis, and organizational development.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Manage full scope of recruitment process, create job postings, receive resumes, conduct phone screenings, participate in interviews, and prepare offers
- Manage benefits administration, enroll employees in group benefits program
- Coordinate orientation and training programs for new and existing employees
- Write company policies and review/revise existing policies
- Maintain and update employee files
- Payroll Processing
- Participate in performance management meetings and implement changes in compensation
- Ensure compliance with Employment Standards Act and other regulations
- Create database of job descriptions
- Facilitate employee feedback and provide a comfortable environment for employees to discuss concerns
- Lead the social committee to coordinate workplace activities and offsite events
- Worker representative for Joint Health & Safety Committee, including conducting monthly workplace inspections and participating in quarterly meetings
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. CHRP designation is an asset
- 2-4 years of experience in an HR role, as an HR Generalist or in similar role including talent acquisition
- Strong knowledge of HR practices and familiarity with employment law
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of an organization and the public
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
