**Commercial Electrical Estimator - Solar**

SkyFire Energy is seeking a highly motivated and capable team member to manage and complete the electrical estimating of commercial, utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage systems. In this role you will be working with an experienced team in a fast-paced environment on exciting opportunities, both large and small, that make positive impacts in the communities with which we work.

**Primary duties include**:

- Manage the electrical estimating of commercial and utility scale solar projects, including the coordination of other team members, drafting, and sub-consultants
- Electrical estimating of solar PV and battery energy storage systems including:

- Review building plans and tender documentation to determine the electrical requirements of the project
- Conduct detailed site assessments, as required, to identify key attributes and constraints
- Complete detailed solar PV system designs, including inverter stringing
- Detailed quantity take-offs of all material and labour
- Work with product suppliers and/or SkyFire's dedicated procurement team to capture up-to-date unit pricing for materials and equipment
- Participate in quote reviews with other design and/or sales staff to ensure the design meets all Code and non-Code related requirements, and that the design meets the client's requirements

**Requirements**:

- 5+ years experience with Commercial electrical estimating, ideally with a Design-Build electrical contractor
- Extensive experience working with spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Excel)
- Experience with electrical estimating software (eg. Accubid)
- Experience with NECA and/or RS Means labour units for estimating
- Experience with Prevailing Wage and multi-jurisdictional labour requirements
- A growth mindset and ability/desire to learn

**Considered an Asset**
- Prior solar design and/or solar estimating experience
- Prior experience as a Journeyperson Electrician
- Drafting experience in AutoCAD and/or Sketchup
- Clear understanding of the current Canadian Electrical Code and utility interconnection requirements
- Experience with PVSyst, PVCase and other solar design and performance modelling tools
- Homer Grid, Energy Toolbase and/or other Battery Energy Storage System design optimization tools
