Electrical Estimator

Eco Tech Electrical Ltd. takes great pride in the quality of our electrical work. Our residential division focuses mainly on new construction in the residential and multifamily sectors while our commercial division focuses mainly on new construction and various retail tenant improvements.
Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of all elements of construction for projects within the electrical.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Analyzes documents, drawings, specifications, addenda, and quotations in preparation for pricing.
- Performs any estimate related oral and/or written communications with clients.
- Performs quantity take-off from construction drawings.
- Coordinates / obtains pricing from Suppliers / Subcontractors and incorporates into estimate.
- Formulates all costs for tender submission - labor, equipment, material, rentals, and subcontracts.
- Prepares recommendations for award of Purchase Orders and Subcontracts.
- Conducts Bid Closing and Bid Handover meetings as required.
- Ensures the distribution of documentation appropriately upon award.
- Tracks, forecasts, and reports on the financial and operational performance of selected projects and provides data to support forecasts and month-end closings.
- Manages Scope Changes as required.
- Coordinates invoicing / progress payment activities where required.
- Maintains files and correspondence on active and completed projects.
- Provides technical support to field staff as appropriate.
- Works with cost codes, project productivity and project control systems when required.
- Collaborates with Operations and PMO to drive project success and learning.
- Performs Post Bid / Post Project Analysis completion and ensures that associated learnings are captured, and that appropriate internal communication takes place
- Assists with Prequalification, RFQ and RFI submissions as required.
- Incorporates / complies with Aecon’s risk management policies and procedures.
- Drives positive relationships with Clients, Consultants, and key Subcontractors.
- Protects all forms of proprietary information.
- Customer contact dealing with site meetings, project management, negotiating contracts, resolving disputes and general communication when required.
- Frequent contact with the public (Job sites visits, Clients, Consultants, Sub trades).
- Keeping detailed records and writing reports
- _Required Knowledge And Experience _*
- Knowledge of Accubid Bidwinner Required.
- Diploma / Degree / Trade Certification - Electrical.
- Understanding of affiliated electrical, utilities systems and civil works an asset.
- Determining the amount, type, and cost of materials and fixtures needed for each electrical project.
- Prior estimating and operational experience Required.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and contract documents.
- Knowledge of construction management, lump sum and design build contracts.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines.
- Knowledge of contract language / Terms and Conditions / Surety etc. an asset.
- Writing up work orders.
- Knowledge of associated Trades labour agreements / working rules an asset.
- Knowledge of job cost fundamentals and accounting / reporting an asset.
- Strong computer skills - MS Excel / Word / MS Outlook, MS Teams.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $45,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
