**INVENTORY PLANNING AND REPLENISHMENT**
Reporting to the Director, Inventory Planning and Replenishment for ensuring alignment of strategic planning, forecasting and inventory management initiatives with Merchandise Buying Leadership. Influence and implement strategic business opportunities, with a focus on the financial success of a complex merchandise planning and inventory management environment.
**What you'll do**:
- Provide strong leadership, support and direction to the Planning team to deliver results. Ensure accurate forecasting methods are used throughout all decision-making situations.
- In partnership with Merchandise Buying Leadership, direct and support the development of merchandise financial plans and forecasts, ensuring solutions are based on strong analytics and insights.
- Review and present monthly forecasts with a focus on maximizing profit, optimizing inventory, and managing risk inventory.
- Oversee, manage and approve complex Open To Buy decisions across the Merchandise groups with a focus on turnover, sales, gross margin and risk assessment.
- Ensure Category Management initiatives are launched with proper product levels to achieve/exceed profit plans. Identify untapped potential and recommend corrective action to optimize profitability.
- Collaborate with Merchandise leadership and replenishment team to review vendor inventory productivity, inventory exit strategies and seasonal clearances to optimize inventory and business financial success.
- Other projects as assigned by the Director, Inventory Planning & Replenishment.
**What we're looking for**:
- College / University Diploma or Degree in Business, Finance and/or Supply Chain.
- Minimum five years’ experience in merchandise planning, finance or replenishment and experience leading a business unit. Ability to coach, motivate and direct an effective team.
- Strong retail financial business acumen.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and influencing skills to be a team player to act as both a leader and individual contributor as required.
- Excellent communication, planning and time management skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to balance, prioritize and manage several projects.
- Familiarity with Hardware / Lumber and Building Materials (LBM) retail and logistics processes considered an asset.
- Ability to work additional or varied hours as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
