Full Time Cook

The incumbent assists the Executive Chef with kitchen operations, including training and guiding kitchen staff in preparing high quality daily menu items in accordance with Company policies and procedures, and legislative/regulatory requirements, and standardized recipes.
Performance requirements
- Continuously follows the principles of “good customer service” and ensure that these values are demonstrated in day to day practices.
- Demonstrates the ability to interact effectively with team, suppliers, residents and families as well as external community resources.
- Demonstrates strong supervisory and organizational skills.
- Able to work under mínimal supervision.
- Offers suggestions and creative ideas that can improve upon both menu and kitchen performance
Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
- Completion of a two year community college culinary course or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Red Seal designation (or working towards) an asset, as well as Food Handling Certificate.
- Minimum of 3 years of cooking experience, preferably in large quantity food preparation.
- Supervisory skills.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
Work Conditions:
- Exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds; push/pull wheeled equipment up to 50 lbs. - Bend, kneel, and work with arms raised for at least 3 hours daily.
- Walk and stand on a variety of surfaces for at least 3 hours daily.
- Schedule is Sunday to Thursday 12-7pm with 1 Monthly Sunday brunch
- Must have own transportation as there is no public transportation
