STR8 UP is hiring a Program Manager for our Gang Violence Reduction Strategy-Community Intervention Model (GVRS-CIM). This position can be based out of either Saskatoon or Prince Albert STR8 UP locations. The Program Manager position will supervise and direct a team of outreach workers, contracted addiction and cultural workers and lived experience mentors.
STR8 UP: 10,000 Little Steps to Healing Inc. is a non-profit, charitable organization that assists individuals in mastering their own destiny and liberating themselves from gangs, addictions, and criminal street lifestyles. STR8 UP is all about assisting and supporting addictive gang members in their transformation from dysfunctional and fatal relationships, to healthy and fulfilling relationships with self, others, Mother Earth and Higher Power, based on spiritual values of Honesty and Humility.
The GVRS-CIM project is a Ministry of Corrections and Policing contract to provide gang-exit outreach services and program facilitation for the central and northern regions of the province.
**Purpose and Scope**
The Gang Violence Reduction Strategy-CIM program supports gang-affiliated youth between the ages of 15 and 30 who have been assessed as a high risk to reoffend by the SPRA or LSI-SK assessment tools. CIM supports adults and youth both in correctional facilities and in the community as they move through the justice system and transition out of the gang lifestyle to become responsible community members. Some of the issue’s participants face include socio-economic and health challenges: poverty, family breakdown, limited education and employment, insecure housing, mental health and emotional challenges including anger, frustration, low self-esteem and addictions. The CIM project advocates, mediates, counsels, mentors and negotiates resources on their behalf. We walk alongside our clients as they chart their course forward.
