The Northern Alberta YMCA is looking for a Program Supervisor for our St. Mary Child Care Program to work towards goals and maximize the efficiency of the programs. This position is responsible for excellent service, quality programming and care to participants, and families of accredited Child Care Centers. The Program Supervisor works as a team to meet the operational requirements for the Centre. This position is accountable to the staff team as a whole, the participants, volunteers, and the public for successful child care delivery.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Assist the Program Director with managing all staff and volunteers within service areas.
- Assist with recruitment of volunteers.
- Maintain good interpersonal staff and volunteer relationships
- Role model best practices daily by interacting with participants on the floor, support the staff and hold them accountable to the delivery of high-quality services.
- Ensure that the volunteers act in a supportive and facilitative role to the staff total and submit all volunteer hours to Director monthly.
- Ensure that the assigned YMCA Child Care Center operates within all Provincial licensing regulations, Health Services regulations, YMCA Policies and Procedures and Accreditation Standards.
- Appropriate room ratios are in place. At all times caregivers are present throughout the room facing the participants. Step in to assist when the ratio’s or off or if extra assistance is needed.
- Implement YMCA Playing to Learn Curriculum (Daycare) and Healthy Child Development Approach (Out of School Care).
- Complete kinder component of the newsletter monthly.
- Actively participate in all aspects of the program (ratio, field trips, swimming etc.) and provide stimulating age appropriate activities to participants.
- Plan and implement family events with children and family input, discuss interests/plan with children on a weekly basis (OSC).
- Take appropriate action to resolve any issues that may arise.
- Maintain a working understanding of Class and EZ labour.
- Assist Program Director in completing month end reports.
- Develop meeting agendas and host/assist with hosting staff meetings as needed.
**What You’ll Need for This Job**
- 1-3 years' experience working with children
- Experience in Child Care, Daycare, or Out of School Care is an asset
- Child Development Worker (Level 2-working towards level 3)
- Child Development Supervisor (Level 3)
- Standard First Aid and CPR-C
- Able to obtain a Police Information Check and Vulnerable sector and where Child Intervention/Enhanced Security check
