Since inception, our team has consistently provided cost effective financing solutions to real estate developers, builders and asset managers. Our roster of clients include some of the country's most prominent and well recognized developers and builders in the industry who continuously, and repeatedly, mandate the firm to structure their project financing and optimize their capital stack. In addition to mortgage brokerage, our loan servicing group (AFC Mortgage Administration) provides mortgage administration services to 3rd party investors (both institutional and private) looking to deploy capital on a managed basis.
**Position Overview**:
The Payment Administrator will be responsible for handling payment transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This individual will work closely with the finance and lending teams to manage incoming and outgoing payments related to mortgage lending, including client payments, investor distributions, and fee processing.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Payment Processing**: Handle the daily processing of mortgage payments, disbursements, and investor payouts.
- **Record Maintenance**: Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring all payments are recorded in the company's financial system promptly and accurately.
- **Reconciliations**: Reconcile payment accounts, including reviewing discrepancies and working with relevant teams to resolve issues.
- **Compliance & Reporting**: Ensure all payment activities adhere to regulatory standards and internal company policies. Prepare financial reports related to payments as needed.
- **Collaboration**: Work with the Finance and Operations teams to streamline payment processes and address any operational challenges related to payment administration.
- **Documentation & Auditing**: Assist with preparing financial documentation for audits and ensuring accurate documentation of payment activities.
- **Escrow & Fees**: Manage escrow payments, interest reserves, and fee disbursements related to mortgages and investor accounts.
**Qualifications**:
- Strong knowledge of payment processing systems and accounting principles.
- Proven experience in a financial, mortgage, or payment administration role is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a remote environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
