**Duties**
**Operations**
- As the Store Manager you will be required to lead the staff in an efficient and productive way. This will involve having a strong presence at the bakery. The majority of your work requires you to be on site
- Oversee bakery operations and baking staff to ensure the bakery's standards are enforced
- Oversee the overall look and cleanliness of the kitchen area (ensure checklists are being done on time and tasks done well).
- Oversee the look and cleanliness of the FOH
- Create production lists & ensure they are completed properly and in a timely manner
- Perform opening and closing procedures (includes counting the cash and ensuring it balances)
- Bank deposits and monthly accounting bookkeeping
- Scheduling employees and ensuring payroll stays within the bakery's budget
- Monitoring Bakery Equipment and space, and report to the Owner and Operations Manager when things need repairing and/or replacing, and troubleshoot if need be.
- Contacting and organizing repair people when need be
- Overseeing inventory and ordering ingredients, packaging, and supplies
- Receiving and organizing deliveries
- Track sales and waste
- Generally ensures the profitability of the bakery - work within the bakery's budget to maximize sales
- May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis (ie Preparing invoices for wholesale orders if Wholesale Manager is away)
- Ensure customers are receiving the best possible product and service.
- Responsible for filling in when the schedule needs it (busy times of year, short staffed) including ensuring the bakery is staffed appropriately (enough people to do morning baking tasks, locking up at night, etc.)
- Work with Order fulfillment Manager to ensure their product is correct
- Delegate tasks accordingly
- Mapping out production prep months in advance for each holiday
- HR responsibilities ability to handle conflict, reprimanding or mediate when needed in a timely, confidential and professional manner.
- Other duties may arise from time to time
**Customer Service**
- Provide superior customer service and set an example and tone for the entire staff to model themselves after
- Handle complaints professionally and quickly (in conjunction with the owner if situation is complicated)
- Maintain overall cute vibe of bakery through décor/social media
**Managing Staff**
- Oversee and assist staff in the proper preparation of product
- Foster employee development, motivation and recognition
- Ensure all tasks are completed fairly between staff and in a time efficient manner. (Work with Floor Supervisors to keep an eye on schedule each day, particularly on slow or heavy baking days to ensure that staff are working an even amount of hours as possible).
- Ensure staff keep as closely to their scheduled shift as possible.
- Organize and lead staff meetings as needed
- Prepare and perform staff reviews
- Schedule staff and verify attendance and payroll records
- In conjunction with the owner and/or other managers - hiring, training, and terminating employees, if necessary
- Ensure all new staff receive proper training and supervision & receive performance management should problems arise
- Ensure staff comply with all SBB policies (especially Health & Safety, Worker Harrassment, etc.)
- Ensure that goals are communicated to staff and attained
- Enforce standards regarding food handling practices, safety and sanitation
**Product**
- Ensure display case is kept full and clean (this includes monitoring the display throughout the day and restocking as items become low)
- Ensure all products that can get put out in the display are put out as soon as possible
- Conduct daily inventory of product and prepare production lists
- Ensure that all product is properly stored and rotated and that nothing goes past point of expiry
- Assist in the development of new products and packaging
- Keep an eye on demand for each kind of pastry to know how much to supply
- Assist in pricing products if/when necessary
- Analyze consistency and quality of products and address issues with bakers as they come up
**Product Development**
- Work with the Owner to develop new products
- Develop, test, bake, and adjust product
- Conduct taste tests to get feedback
- Create recipes to be clear and efficient
- Train staff on how to properly and consistently make product at both
