The Water / Sewer Labourer will work under the daily supervision of the Water & Sewer Lead Hand and the Process Compliance Analyst and carries out a variety of works operations and administrative duties necessary for maintaining the water and sewer publicly owned infrastructure.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist with well house maintenance;
- Assist with day-to-day water / sewer operations;
- Assist with the maintenance of the water distribution system infrastructure (hydrants, valves, curb stops etc.);
- Assist with the maintenance of the sanitary sewer collection system;
- Assist with the administration of receiving, processing and closing of locates;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Working towards a post-secondary diploma/degree or equivalent experience, with training or experience related to the environmental sector.
- Ability to respond to the public in a respectful and tactful manner.
- Team Player.
- Mechanical Skills.
- Safety Training - Health & Safety, WHMIS, First Aid & CPR, traffic control, water and wastewater “operator in training” licences would be an asset.

**Preferred**:

- Preference will be given to students enrolled in an Environmental Studies or related discipline
