Intensive Adult Service Workers at BACI provide person centred supports in a caring and professional manner through precise implementation of person centred plans. IASW work collaboratively with the team to ensure positive behaviour supports are implemented. IASW advance inclusion by encouraging and supporting people to explore community and belonging and by increasing independence. This position engages in gathering information and contributing to advancing complex plans through team collaboration.
**POSITION: Part Time Adult Worker**
**LOCATION:Burnaby**
**SALARY: $26.09**
**HOURS: 20.0 hours per week Schedule: Monday-Friday8:00am-12:00pm
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from a University or Community College with an appropriate degree or certificate in Human Service OR an equivalent of education and experience may be considered.
- First Aid/ CPR,
- Non-Violent Intervention training required.
- A valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License required.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: The position requires
- the values and ability to promote community inclusion, and support people to exercise positive control of their lives
- The ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently is essential
- Experience supporting people with autism and/or complex support plans
- The values and ability to respond to behaviour as communication is essential
- Knowledge and ability to use alternative communication systems would be an asset
- Willingness and experience supporting individuals who may display challenging behaviours is required
- Working knowledge of computers is preferred
