**Job Overview**
We are seeking a passionate, dependable and hardworking Barista/Counter Server to join our team. This is an intermediate to senior entry position ( please, no students at this time) for our family run, down to earth style cafe, serving up great soup, sandwiches, coffee and baked goods to Calgarians for over 30 years.
As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while preparing high-quality beverages and food items. Your expertise in customer service and food handling will ensure that every guest has an exceptional experience. **Responsibilities**
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items according to established recipes and standards.
- Operate the POS register and handle cash transactions accurately, including basic math calculations for change.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders efficiently, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, ensuring all items are fresh and presented attractively.
- Collaborate with team members and management to ensure smooth operations during peak hours while managing time effectively.

**Requirements**:

- Previous barista experience or experience in the food industry a must. Food prep and general duties relating to the front of the house, an asset.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented atmosphere while also being self-motivated.
- Fluent in English.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
