**Overview**
We are seeking a highly organized individual, keen on event management, with a desire to help grow a gardening community.

The Gardeners' Market Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the organization of the Gardeners’ Market. This includes liaising with current and potential corporate and affiliate members about the event, reaching out to the broader community for event exhibitors, assisting in planning the speaker stage program, liaison with the venue contact, as well as other administrative and logístical support. The coordinator will assist the Programs Manager with program agreements, planning program schedule, and providing management support for the speakers. Part of the role will be working with the Volunteer Coordinator to support the volunteers. Ensuring all event activities run smoothly are an important aspect of the position.

**Duties**

Coordinate event planning
- maintain event meeting agendas and follow up on action items
- be primary contact for exhibitors and follow up on all inquires
- track bookings and exhibitor requirements
- provide event progress updates
- develop and implement communication plan including material preparation
- ensure sponsor agreement recognition is fulfilled
- track event promotion impacts
- assist with floor map planning
- prepare feedback surveys

Event
- liaise with exhibitors and troubleshoot any concerns
- assist setting up and taking down on event day

Post event
- implement and follow up on surveys as required
- report on event
- prepare report that includes recommendations for future events

Other tasks as required and may include supporting other Society programs.

Note: regular hours are Tuesday to Friday and some weekend work. The Gardener's Market is Saturday, April 26.

The Calgary Horticultural Society's Gardeners' Market (presented by greengate Garden Centres) is one of the Society's annual signature events. It attracts about 1, 200 gardeners excited to discover what's new in the local world of gardening. Join us and help make this event a success.

The Society's office is located in Richmond Green Park. The Gardeners' Market venue is The Commons at ATCO Park | Blue Flame Kitchen (5302 Forand Street SW).

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 17 weeks

Pay: $20.00-$22.50 per hour

Expected hours: 28 per week
