Viva Pharmaceutical Inc. creates natural products and ingredients aimed at helping consumers get and stay healthy. Those products are offered in a variety of popular forms - including softgel and hard-shell capsules, as well as traditional tablets. The company also offers custom manufacturing, private labelling, and testing services for retailers, resellers and manufacturers.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Write and/or review protocols, batch records, and standard operating procedures (SOP), and contribute to the assessment of employees’ ongoing performance to suggest rewards and penalties.
- Coach the production departmental trainers to maximize efficiency. Co-ordinate, implement and verify training for production staff with production departmental trainers and the Quality Assurance department.
- Create, monitor, and update production schedules on a daily basis.
- Work with all departments to deal with production-related issues to ensure quality and productivity are always in place.
- Follow up on production flow including monitoring raw material inventory levels, managing equipment/tooling, and all necessary details approval.
- Monitor processes and works with the department Supervisors and Operators to determine the best solution to resolve areas of concern and implement sustainable process improvements.
- Ensure all plans and strategies are effectively communicated throughout the department.
- Work with the sales team to ensure projects are running on time as well as changes and delays are being communicated, oversee due dates, provide expedited dates when requested and manage all sales inquiries.
- Complete projects and administrative functions such as: assisting in the selection of prospective new hires, labour booking, overtime, and attendance tracking, and defective material tracking.
- Participate in production safety, product quality, and other production-related meetings.
- Understand and resolve issues with employees that do not meet production targets.
- Ensure all accidents and injuries are thoroughly investigated and that all investigation documentation, alternative duty job offers, and back-to-work agreements are properly managed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Management.

**Preferred Qualifications and/or Experiences**:

- B.Sc. degree in an applicable discipline of science (chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, medicine, or related).
- At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/Nutraceutical industry.
- Familiar with production scheduling and management experience is required.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards, regulations, SOP, SOI and best practices.
- Advanced knowledge of GMP and NHPD requirements and the US FDA regulations for manufacturing pharmaceutical or nutraceutical products.
- Good knowledge of the manufacturing environment is crucial.
- Knowledge of good labor /management practices including progressive discipline and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Superior communication skills in a multicultural environment and the ability to deal with a variety of front-line industrial relations issues.
