**Basic Function**: Reporting to the Supervisor of Strategic Communications, this position is responsible for capturing, editing, organizing and sourcing all photo and video assets. The position will be responsible for supporting the onboarding of a new digital management system and will be leading with setting up and overseeing the system, and supporting all departments in training and onboarding of the new system and use. It also provides input and supports the membership marketing and communications plan. This position is also responsible for assisting and providing support in implementing the Strategic Plan.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Capturing photos and videos as required for various use or in general for storing for future use

Develops and creates brand marketing photography/videography, which could include:

- Wildlife imagery for creative campaigns across multiple channels
- Science/Technology imagery, such as laboratory settings
- Events and activations
- Product photography
- Imagery to be used for internal company needs

Works with staff and external contractors to coordinate and capture timely and accurate photo and video content, aligning with corporate strategic and operational priorities and approved to brand standards.

Supports the development and coordination of Toronto Zoo advertising campaigns with in-house graphic design, while ensuring brand standards are met.

Develops campaign briefs and proposals, which will include shot lists, photography and direction

Lead photo/video shoots on-location, directing talent, being in charge of all technical elements, and working with internal and external production partners and agencies

Mentor other photographers on the team, ensuring high-quality output

Manage the postproduction process of captured photography, ensuring that all photos are processed, touched-up, and edited within set deadlines and objectives

Monitor within the industry various photography and strategies, zoo/attractions trends to provide recommendations and act upon opportunities.

Present photographic/video materials to multiple stakeholders, internal and external, if required

Support the RFP process and subsequent onboarding/coordination of a new digital asset management system

Organize and manage all digital assets, including cataloguing, sorting

Maintain all video and photography equipment and make suggestions for updating and upgrading existing gear

Provide training and coaching on both photography and videography and the digital storage system to Strategic Communications team members and other Zoo departments as required

Directly engage technology and operations teams as required to efficiently resolve problems and implement process improvements

Provides input and supports the membership marketing and communications plan and Zoo’s publications.

Assists in the coordination and implementation of the Zoo’s year-round strategic communications marketing plan to achieve established attendance and revenue targets.

Coordinates special marketing and communications projects as required by the Supervisor or Manager.

Support media relations activity and filming requests as required.

Supports guest experience needs onsite as required.

Other related duties as requested by the Supervisor and/or Manager of Strategic Communications.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Possess or working towards a degree or diploma in Photography/Videography, Graphic Design,

Advertising or Marketing or a related field of study at a university or community College.

Expert-level photography/videography experience (examples of work/portfolio required)

Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator)

Minimum 2 years work experience with Photography/Videography, preferably in a wildlife-centred setting

Experience with Digital Marketing

Knowledge of the wildlife science and/or conservation (animal facts, behaviours, identifying species) an asset.

Must have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work collaboratively or in a team setting;
Must be capable of performing light physical demands which may be related to the job;
Must be able and willing to work shifts, weekends and holidays;
Full G driver’s license in good standing is an asset (eg. driving on site).
