Strategic Communication Coordinator, Grade 1

**Core Role Responsibilities**:
- Analyze, track and report campaign performance and suggest improvements.
- Monitor industry trends, consumer behaviour, and competitive activity to identify opportunities
- Implement tactical online marketing initiatives, including tracking, on site optimizations, keyword analysis, content creation, site auditing and competitive analysis.
- A/B Testing and MVT Testing to analyze campaigns to ensure our messages are reaching the right audience(s) at the right time with the right message(s) to drive engagement, retention and monetization.
- Support of digital asset management.
- Working closely with the Supervisor and Manager to develop a clear CRM strategy.
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of the Zoo’s year-round strategic communications marketing plan to achieve established attendance and revenue targets.
- Assist with sponsor benefit fulfillment.
- Actively participate in cross-functional brainstorming.
- Ensure that the Supervisor/Manager is aware of all work assignments and projects taking place within the Branch and keep them informed of any problems that may occur and the status of the assignments and projects.
- Support media relations and filming requests as required.
- Support guest experience needs onsite as required.
- Follow all policies and branch instructions.
- Attend appropriate training as required.
**Technical Knowledge and Skills**:
- Must have a university degree or college diploma in Marketing/Advertising or Communications or the equivalent amount of training and related experience.
- Must possess hands-on experience in programming (i.e. - HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript) and SQL development and design skills (Adobe Creative suite).
- Must have experience with other Marketing Automation Platforms (i.e. - Zapier, Make, Marketo, Hubspot, Sendgrid).
- Must have experience designing and implementing seamless customer experiences and communications across multiple touchpoints with key stakeholders.
- Must have experience creating advanced audience segmentation strategies based on demographics, behaviours, and engagement levels to improve targeting and effectiveness.
- Must have sound knowledge of SEO/SEM, Google Analytics, analytical and database tools.
- Copywriting skills in a professional context considered an asset.
- Must have strong project management skills, multitasking and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Experience with photography and videography (capturing and editing) in a professional context is considered an asset.
- Must ensure all applicable licenses and certificates remain valid and in good standing. Copies of licenses and certificates to be provided at time of hire and upon renewal.
- Working knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act and WHMIS legislation.
- Possess an unrestricted Class G driver’s license valid in the Province of Ontario along with a good driving record considered an asset.
- Must be able to work weekends, shifts and holidays as scheduled.
- Must be able to deal with staff and public in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Capable of meeting physical requirements of the position.
