JORDAN’S PRINCIPLE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
The Prince Albert Grand Council is a non-profit organization that provides a range of programs and services to 12 First Nations Communities.
Under the Supervision of the Health Director, or designate, the Jordan’s Principle administrative assistant will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals and support staff.
Position description: The Jordan’s Principle administrative assistant will be tasked with the administrative and clerical duties of the program by ensuring that client files are properly filed and maintained, perform basic book keeping, organize financial records, routing telephone calls, mail correspondence, and play a supportive role for families of children who require health, social and educational programs and services.
Key duties and responsibilities may include:
- Maintaining and updating client files and records
- Answering calls, taking messages and redirecting calls
- Sorting and distributing incoming mail and preparing outgoing mail
- Using office equipment like facsimile machines, printers, photocopiers and computers
- Submitting purchase orders for approval
- Dispersing cheques to families approved for Jordan’s Principle assistance
- Handling basic bookkeeping tasks like invoicing and submitting cheque requisitions for approval
Skills and qualifications:
- Proficiency with basic accounting and office procedures
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Organizational and strong decision-making skills
- Proficiency with office software like Microsoft Office Suite, word and Excel
- Efficient Typing
- Diplomacy and tact with clients
- Knowledge of standard office equipment
- Office Administrative Certificate or two years relevant work experience preferred
