We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive **Quality Assurance Specialist** to ensure the highest level of product and process quality across our operations. This role is critical in supporting compliance, maintaining product standards, and improving overall customer satisfaction.
**Requirements**:
- **Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, Nutrition,or Microbiology.**:
- **2 years in QA/QC**, regulatory, or manufacturing in dietary supplements, food, pharmaceuticals, or cosmetics.
- **Experience with** Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), OOS investigations, change control, and reviewing quality documents (COAs, GMP certificates, product specs).
- **Lab Testing Coordination**: ability to manage third-party lab testing, handle OOS result reporting, and oversee lab-related administrative tasks.
- **Document Management**: strong organizational skills for managing and reviewing quality documentation (e.g., COAs, BOMs, finished product specs).
- **Regulatory Compliance**:knowledge of FDA and Health Canada labeling regulations to ensure compliance in listings, labels and packaging product claims.
- **Communication**: strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with manufacturers, labs, and internal teams.
- **Attention to Detail & Organization**: ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- **Problem-solving**:strong analytical skills for troubleshooting quality and compliance issues.
**Responsibilities**:
**PRODUCT QUALITY SUPPORT**:
▪Assist with out-of-specification (OOS) and non-conformance investigations by gathering data from manufacturers and third-party labs.
▪Track and maintain quality agreements with manufacturers, ensuring proper documentation and filing.
▪Support change control processes by maintaining logs and records of updates.
▪Collect, review, and systematically store quality documents (COAs, test results, product specifications, GMP certificates).
▪Ensure all production batches undergo required testing per company policies and agreements.
▪Serve as the primary QA contact for team members, manufacturers, and labs.
▪Approve final product releases.
▪Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure product quality and consistency from batch to batch.
**LAB TESTING COORDINATION (AMAZON, 3RD PARTY, NSF, PRODUCT CERTIFICATION)**:
▪Research and coordinate third-party lab testing, including obtaining quotes, submitting samples, and tracking progress.
▪Assist in managing OOS result reporting and compiling data for QA Manager review.
▪Handle lab-related administrative tasks, including processing invoices, updating internal spreadsheets, and communicating testing schedules with the supply chain team.
**DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT**:
▪Collect, organize, and review all quality-related documentation, including Raw Materials COAs, organic certifications, Finished Production specifications, and Bill Of Materials, quality agreements and GMP certificates.
▪Assist in gathering and reviewing finished product specifications for new product launches.
▪Create and file finished product specifications for new products (custom formulas).
▪Ensure compliance documentation is properly maintained and up to date.
**LISTING&LABEL COMPLIANCE REVIEW**:
▪Conduct label, listing and packaging compliance reviews, ensuring alignment with FDA and Health Canada regulations.
