**About the Position**

Come join us as our **Funding Officer** Join our dedicated lending professional team to facilitate the successful closing of commercial and residential mortgage transactions for various Gentai funds. This role will liaise with the Company’s legal counsels and underwriting team to process the mortgage conveyance and ensure the loans will fund, as per the approval. A demonstrated ability to work under pressure with calmness, and continued focus during hectic periods, along with having a strong attention to accuracy are keys for success in this role.

**Key Responsibilities**

Daily Task will include, but not limited to, the following:

- Prepare and send instructional packages to Gentai’s lawyers, liaise with lawyers, the origination and underwriting team to obtain closing information.
- Monitor funding pipelines daily and update changes in the interactive report which is shared with the manager.
- Verify that conditions precedent and AML criterias are met, or exception approvals are received and in place before advancing loan proceeds.
- Review and audit individual files to ensure the lending policy and guidelines are met.
- Set up the Funding Checklist to monitor conditions and keep current funding instructions ready for internal approval.
- Collect and review lawyer’s final report upon loan closing, to ensure it corresponds with the company’s requirements.
- Ensure all documents and information are stored and organized in our loan servicing system and shared drive folder with accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with post-funding items, such as insurance follow-up, undertaking completion, etc.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the company’s lending guidelines and funding procedures.
- Onboard new lawyers with assisting the manager to maintain the professional relationship.
- Special projects as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Real Estate major.
- A minimum of 2 years work experience in **commercial mortgage** underwriting, funding, loan administration, or paralegal role.
- Must have a mortgage broker license or will be required to obtain it within 12 months of hire.
- Excellent effective written and verbal business communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work quickly, accurately and with attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to balance multiple priorities, and high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment to meet time timelines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and intermediate-advanced level Excel skills
- Dolphin system or similar MIC Manager software experience an asset.
