Edmonton, Canada M & H Wood Specialities Ltd. Full time

M & H Wood Specialties is looking for experienced log home builders to join our construction team. We specialize in custom log home construction straight to lock up as well as restoration, renovation and refinishing. Applicants with experience in a leadership role will be considered above others.

**Knowledge and Additional Skills required**:

- Joinery - including measuring, laying out logs, cutting, shaping and assembling
- Peeling, planning, scribing & fitting logs
- Preparing layouts ensuring compliance with building codes.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, sketches or building plans to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Able to work at heights and flexible enough to stretch, lift, push, bend, pull and carry equipment and materials
- Must have working knowledge of general practices in dismantling log structures for shipping and re-assembly
- Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Skilled in problem solving
- Able to do precision work without close supervision
- Must be able to operate chainsaws and other tools and equipment relevant to timber construction industry

Must have a valid drivers' license and reliable transportation as well as your own tools. Flexibility on schedule required. Must be able to work remotely inside Canada when necessary. Salary negotiable and based upon experience.

Required education:

- Diploma/Certificate
- Minimum 1 year experience in log home building
Minimum 2 years’ experience in carpentry or residential home construction

**Salary**: From $29.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift

COVID-19 considerations:
Common surfaces are sanitized regularly. Sanitizer placed in stations around property including company vehicles.

- 50% (required)
