As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Development Associate to join our team of highly skilled professionals. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Associate will assist and support the development arm within our group of companies.
**Responsibilities Include**:
- Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary consultant teams and track consultant progress.
- Prepare and circulate requests for proposals to consultants.
- Organize and attend project meetings and report on progress where required.
- Review and provide feedback on technical drawings/plans and consultant reports.
- Maintain and organize project files to ensure accessibility to all users.
- Attend relevant Committee of Council and development industry liaison meetings, and monitor/report on changes to municipal policy, procedure and guidelines.
- Attend neighbourhood and statutory public meetings as required.
- Assist in the investigation and evaluation of the feasibility of acquisitions.
- Track development agreements to ensure that obligations are fulfilled and liaise with the construction team and municipal/regional contacts to facilitate the release of securities.
- Organize, review and approve consultant invoices and track consultant budgets.
- Support various internal departments (Marketing & Sales, Construction, Customer Service, and Finance) with tasks as required.
**Qualifications**:
- Degree or diploma in urban planning, civil engineering, real estate development (or similar) and a minimum of three years relevant work experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and consultant reports, or a willingness to learn.
- Be able to anticipate issues and take a proactive approach to the role.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part work of a team, critical thinking, and organizational skills apply.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with Microsoft Project or other project management software is considered an asset.
- Possession of a Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
