Gastroenterology clinic is looking for an Medical Office Administrator (MOA) who is organized, friendly, and professional with patients. This is a one physician clinic. The space is shared with another Gastroenterologist and their MOA who will be able to assist in orientation.

The clinic is located at 379 Church St, connected to Markham Stouffville Hospital. Parking at the hospital is provided if the successful applicant drives. This facility serves one of the most diverse populations in Canada. Respectfulness and professionalism towards our patients is of utmost importance.
- The position is **Full-Time, with a 1 year probationary period to terminate with reasonable cause.**:

- Formal evaluations aimed at improving workflow and communication between MOA and physician will be periodically performed - this will be more frequent initially to help troubleshoot any issues, and become less frequent over time
- **Working days and hours may include but not limited to: Weekdays: 9:00am-4:00pm, 4.0-5.0 days per week**:

- **Works out to around 51 weeks per year**:

- **15 days off per year, 10 paid days, 5 unpaid days**

**Essential Functions include but are not limited to**:
**1. Accuro EMR knowledge is a MUST (This is a deal breaker)**
**2. **Experience with OCEAN questionnaires is useful but not required

**3. **2+ years of experience in Medical Administration in Canada (Must have knowledge of Canadian Healthcare system)
**4**. Must have knowledge & experience with Canadian Medical Healthcare system.

**5. **Canadian Medical Office Administration (MOA) Diploma from a Canadian Institution is an asset.

**6. Must be a Canadian Citizen, or have a current Permanent Residency and currently eligible to work in Canada. We will not be sponsoring anyone.**

**Job scope includes but not limited to**:

- Scheduling appointments for consultations, follows-ups, booking procedures at Markham Stouffville Hospital
- Contacting patients to obtain contact information, send requisitions, give instructions for appointments, sending intake forms via OCEAN, confirming their appointments with either phone calls and/or managing an **automated appointment confirmation system**:

- Review, edit and send out doctor’s completed letters to referring physicians and GP’s
- Data entry includes inputting information on OCEAN questionnaires into **Accuro **patient chart - includes past medical history, medications, social history
- Greet patients upon arrival, record their weight
- Uploading endoscopy and lab reports to Accuro and sending out endoscopy results to family physician in a timely matter
- Scheduling clinic and endoscopy appointments as advised by the physician, to review pre-endoscopy instructions with patients and answer patients' questions accordingly. All appointments are to be confirmed 1 week prior to the scheduled appointments and patients are to be made aware of cancellation policies.
- Communicate with physician via Accuro for patient related inquiries; tasks, follow up requests, results review, new referral review.
- Communication and coordination with Physician on items such as scheduling, clinic flow, completing back logged work, and updating tests schedule
- To ensure the examining room is stocked with appropriate medical supplies.
- Maintain business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level; communicating to physician re: supplies, receipt of supplies. _This is minor as the computer set up is DIY'ed by the physician. We only have one printer/fax combo machine that needs to be restocked._
- **Accuro EMR knowledge is a MUST (This is a deal breaker)**

Working remotely is not possible

**Salary**: heavily dependent on previous experience and capability - $19.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- **Weekdays: 9:00am-4:00pm, 4.0-5.0 days per week**:

- **No weekends**

COVID-19 considerations:
All patients and staff must wear a mask at all times while in the clinic. All medical staff must wear full PPE while in clinic, and exercise Covid-19 clinic protocols

- Medical Office Administration: 2 years (preferred)

- A second language is an asset but not mandatory
