- As a key member of our Commercial Specialty Division, you will provide underwriting support to our Underwriters. You will be accountable for the management of underwriting documentation, work directly with the underwriting team on day-to-day account handling and be tasked with pro-actively and effectively communicating with our brokers to ensure that all information is accurate, complete and up to date with respects to the underwriting process and Everest issued policy documents._

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

- _ Handle daily underwriting processing of accounts, including New Business, Renewals, and Endorsements, through Everest’s policy quote and issuance system._
- _ Management of renewal cycle; gather and preparation of renewal files_
- _ Coordinate loss runs with Claims and provide loss runs to brokers if required_
- _ Issue all new line, renewal and endorsement policy documents and deal with brokers as needed on documentation queries_

Other Duties as needed, including:
- Review, referral to underwriter as needed and filing of certificates of insurance_
- _ Issue registered letters of cancellation / reinstatement_
- _ Generation/preparation_ of business reports as directed_
- _ Completion of M&S Insurance to Value calculators_
- _ Ordering of loss control reports as directed by Underwriter_
- _ Review of property valuation data as needed_
- _ Special projects and other duties or responsibilities as assigned_

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

- _ Minimum 1 to 3 years of progressive experience as a commercial underwriting assistant_
- _ CIP designation or actively working towards completion of CIP courses_
- _ Bilingualism (French and English) is a requirement_

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

- _ Working knowledge of commercial casualty and property, with a dedication to self-improvement and development_
- _ Strong oral and written communication, analytical and computer skills_
- _ Ability to build and maintain excellent relations with brokers and provide superior service_
- _ Team oriented and ability to work effectively with peers_
- _ Strong time management and prioritization skills to meet daily demand and deadlines to fulfill all service requirements_
