Backed by a fifth-generation family-owned company, Spicers is a leading distributor of commercial print and business papers, specialty products, graphic solutions, sign & display equipment and materials, and packaging and facility supplies and equipment.

We’re based in Vaughan, Ontario, with 23 regional locations that include custom manufacturing facilities in Edmonton, Toronto and Winnipeg, as well as cash and carry locations, product showrooms and equipment demonstration sites.

We are currently looking for a Field Service Technician, Edmonton, AB reporting to the Service Manager.

**Position Summary**:
The Field Service Technician is responsible for training, installing and repairing packaging equipment at varying company and client locations.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Under the supervision of the Service Manager, the duties and responsibilities of the Field Service Technician include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Install, train, repair fully automatic & semi-automatic pallet wrappers
- Install, train, repair banding and taping equipment for packaging industry
- Act as first point of contact for customers and their equipment needs
- Act as liaison for employees and customers for packaging equipment needs and repairs
- Provide helpful solutions to increase efficiency & productivity
- Responsible for parts ordering and inventory control
- Provide helpful solutions that increase efficiency and productivity; and
- Other duties as assigned

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Basic electrical knowledge
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Working knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics
- Knowledge of packaging equipment an asset

**Working Conditions**:

- Work normal business hours but may be required to do some work in the evenings or outside normal working hours;
- Required to work in a busy, open area office which may result in constant interruptions;
- Required to meet a number of deadlines which may cause stress.
- 30% travel required
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Work at varying temperature
