We are hiring **Full-time** customer service focused individuals to join our talented team in the position of **Field Service Technician** to work in our Edmonton shop with travel requirements to rural oil field sites. The Field Service Technician hours are on a shift rotation of 14 days on with 7 days off. We are operational 24 hours/365 days a year.
**The position**:
The Field Service Technician is responsible for the overall completion of delivery and for supervising the installation of down-hole completion systems for the Operations Team. Daily you will transport, deliver, and supervise the installation of various down-hole completion systems to a client’s field location, safely and professionally while:
- Working in conjunction with the client’s representative on location.
- Accurately and thoroughly completing all associated field documentation on our windows operating system-based program taking into consideration our policies and procedures.
- Ability to take direction from the Coordinator or Lead Field Technician on delivery and installation requirements for specific projects.
- Ensuring products and tools are accurate and correctly loaded prior to delivery and installation as per the provided quote and job procedure.
- Managing the on-site delivery and installation of tools. This includes coordinating and training rig crew and our valued clients to ensure a successful installation, operation, and maintenance of product. While onsite your communication skills will be demonstrated with our clients regarding such matters as how to operate and maintain company tools correctly and safely.
- Complying with our company’s policy and procedures related to operations including understanding and using Engineering Handbooks and Technical Manuals accordingly.
- Ensuring forms, including JSA’s, tickets, job logs, drawings, and Load Out Manager (LOM) are completed accurately for data tracking, invoicing, and reporting.
- Identifying issues and concerns, providing details to your Coordinator with the ability to communicate and discuss resolutions.
- Working closely with clients, the shop staff, and all invested parties to keep all informed about the status of the day-to-day field service activities, open issues, and corrective actions.
- Providing quality service and technical support during delivery and installation at the highest level possible at their location.
- Providing backup support to field technicians on larger projects as required.
- Ensuring that all customer orientations are completed.
- Understanding and complying with all ISO and Health, Safety and Environment Policies and Programs, including demonstrating compliance to clients and suppliers.
- Fulfilling the requirement to be fit for duty and meet all drug and alcohol testing, including pre-access testing for specific clients.
- Teamwork minded, reliable, dependable ambassador for Import Tool. You will be responsible for supporting all Import Tool and third-party products and to work in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner.
**What we need from you**:
- High school diploma, trade, technical school diploma or equivalent.
- Completed courses in Import Tool Corporation’s Performance, Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental orientation and programs: GHS (WHMIS), H2S alive, BSO, EGSO, TDG, first aid, forklift, advanced driver training, overhead crane, and baker hydraulic.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in the oil field or in drilling industry with knowledge of differential depths, hydrostatic pressures, calculating displacements and tubular capacities, piston area, tubing stretch and compression with experience with installation of oil field tools.
- Willingness and capability to safely drive long distances to site locations.
- Flexibility to work as a team member and independently while on location or in the shop.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to accurately calculate displacements, depths, and hydraulic forces.
- Consistently safety minded using your hazard identification, observation and strong interpersonal skills while working and when organizing and leading safety meetings.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Strong communication and understanding to ensure success when carrying out implementation of written, oral or diagram forms. General computer proficiency to complete these tasks.
