**Position Overview**

The Early Childhood Educator is responsible for delivering early learning and childcare services in alignment with the Lakeview Early Learning Centre philosophy.

**Responsibilities**

**Curriculum Planning and Implementation**
- Design and implement age-appropriate learning experiences and lesson plans that align with developmental milestones.
- Select and provide a wide variety of materials that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.

**Child Interaction and Development**
- Establish a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that supports children’s learning and well-being.
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and adjust the learning approaches accordingly.
- Ensure physical and psychological safety of children, oversee hygiene practices of dressing and toileting, and teach children about healthy habits of proper eating and safety precautions.

**Classroom Management and Safety**
- Ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.
- Supervise children during all activities, including indoor and outdoor play.
- Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment.
- Implement and practice emergency procedures.

**Communication and Collaboration**
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their children’s progress and development.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as early intervention specialists or therapists.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

**Education and Job Related Experience Requirements**

High School Diploma

Experience working with kids and developing leaders.

Possession of or willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid

Criminal Record Check, including a vulnerable sector check

Meet or exceed the qualifications of Early Childhood Education Level 1

Pay: $20.50-$27.68 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
