**Early Childhood Educator**

**Preston Early Learning (PELC) is currently looking for a dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our organization for a 3 month term with the possibility of extension. As a member of our team, you will use PELC’s Reggio Emilia inspired framework to build a child-led emergent curriculum that helps children grow physically, emotionally, socially, cognitively, and creatively. You will use observation tools to track their progress and ensure an inclusive and diverse environment. You will understand that children are capable, competent, inquisitive, resilient, passionate, limitless and unique.**

**Responsibilities**

**-**Record classroom observations to determine the children’s interest. *

**-**Connect children’s interests to the emergent curriculum through project work, environment, and play-based opportunities.*

**-**Make learning visible through classroom documentation in various formats.*

**-**Use positive guidance practices including engaging with the children, modelling behaviour and language, and redirection. *

**-**Provide opportunities for children to interact with nature through outdoor play experiences. *

**-**Meet the basic daily care needs of children, including napping, feeding, diapering.*

**-**Effectively communicate and build relationships with parents both at pick up/drop off and through our parent communication app called Lillio.*

**-**Contribute to the general maintenance of the site cleaning, keeping sidewalks clear, and reporting items needing repairs. *

**-**Mentor co-workers, practicum students, and casual staff, explaining routines, policy, and best practice. *

**-**Complete all necessary documents and paperwork in compliance with company policy and Ministry requirements. *

**-**Display a positive and inclusive attitude towards diversity. *

**-**Comply with all licensing and Provincial regulations pertaining to Early Learning Centre.*

**Qualifications**:
**Must have minimum ECE Level 1.**

**Ability to provide a valid criminal record check (including vulnerable sector check) completed within the last 6 months**

**Up to date First Aid/CPR certification**

**Must be legally able to work in Canada**

Pay: $20.69-$27.13 per hour

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
