**Position Overview**
Since 1967, we have proudly served Ontario’s nuclear industry. Aecon Nuclear aims to be the partner-of-choice for key nuclear clients and our dedication to excellence is leading us there. Aecon Nuclear provides a full spectrum of Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) services, in addition to maintenance and manufacturing services tailored to meet the demanding requirements of the nuclear power industry.
Reporting to the Nuclear Human Resources Director, the HR Assistant will support the nuclear team with a variety of administrative duties, including but not limited to assisting in hiring and onboarding.
**What You'll Do Here**:
- Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives, and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
- Work closely with HR and payroll to ensure all transactions related to the employee life cycle are submitted accurately and within the required payroll deadlines. For example, new hire paperwork, terminations, benefits, compensation changes, taxable benefits, project uplifts.
- Support with reporting, data accuracy and integrity.
- Participate in data audits.
- Generate new and ad hoc HRIS reports as needed by the HR department.
- Support drafting offer letters, onboarding new employees, collecting all new hire paperwork, submission of IT needs, access to software and hardware, and follow up to ensure all needs are in place prior to the employee start date.
- Prepare new Employee Orientation packages and assist in offboarding employees including communication with payroll and IT
- Work with the HR Coordinator to create monthly communications newsletter, highlighting employees.
- Other administrative duties as assigned
**What you will bring to the team**:
- Currently working towards / or recently graduated with a degree or diploma focused on Human Resources.
- Be a champion of inclusion and diversity
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Experience in an administrative role is an asset
- Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Self-motivation to work in a remote, team environment
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
