Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated High School Teacher to join our team. As a High School Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the minds of young individuals and preparing them for their future endeavors.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan and deliver effective ESL lessons tailored to the needs of students at different proficiency levels (AO, BO, CO, DO, EO).
- Develop and implement appropriate instructional strategies and materials to support English language development and academic success.
- Foster critical thinking, inquiry, and analytical skills among students through interactive classroom activities and discussions.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student progress through a combination of formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to support their growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary connections and promote cross-curricular learning experiences.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and administrators to address individual needs and concerns.
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Offer extra help through tutoring sessions for students who require additional support.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification or eligibility for certification is preferred.
- **TESOL Certification is mandatory**.
- Proven experience teaching ESL to high school students, preferably in a diverse classroom setting.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success and well-being.
- Proficiency in integrating technology tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to effectively plan and deliver instruction.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school community.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
- Experience in teaching high school students preferred.
- Proficiency in classroom management techniques.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students.
- Knowledge of special education practices is beneficial.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $26.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
