Duties

  • Provide academic support for students in grades 9 to 12.
  • Assess students' individual learning needs and, when applicable, develop customized lesson and instructional materials plans based on educational standards to address specific academic challenges.
  • Offer individualized tutoring sessions in subjects such as Math, Science, English, and Social Studies.
  • Help students complete assignments and develop executive functioning skills that promote independent learning.
  • Assist students in developing effective study habits, time management skills, and test-taking strategies.
  • Track and report on students' academic progress, identifying areas for improvement and adjusting tutoring strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other educational staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to student learning and development.
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, student progress, and feedback for future reference.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or working with students in an educational setting.
  • OCT certification and/or experience working with students with special needs is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum standards and teaching methodologies for the relevant subject areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and parents.
  • Ability to adapt teaching styles to meet diverse learning needs and preferences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in tracking student progress and maintaining records.

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: $30.00-$60.00 per hour
