Duties:
- Prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, filling holes, and repairing any damage
- Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape to protect surrounding areas
- Calculate the amount of materials needed for each project and ensure proper storage and disposal of paint and other materials
- Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment
- Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective gear during all painting activities
**Skills**:
- Time management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Hand tools: Proficiency in using various hand tools such as scrapers, putty knives, and sandpaper
- Construction painting: Familiarity with painting new construction projects, including residential homes or commercial buildings
- Residential painting: Experience in painting interior and exterior surfaces of residential properties
- Power tools: Competence in operating power tools such as paint sprayers or sanders
