**_WHAT YOU’LL DO: _**
- **_Responsible to the Laboratory Manager(s), the Clerk 4 performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties including: _**:

- **_Acting as liaison between the Laboratory clients, patients, physicians and others to ensure optimal customer service _**:

- **_Files and retrieves blocks and slides _**:

- **_Ensuring reports from different areas of the Laboratory are distributed to the proper location in a timely manner, including transcribing of external reports into the CIS _**:

- **_Performs duties and responsibilities for distribution of confidential reports including pathology reports, minutes of meetings, correspondence, etc. for the Laboratory Director, Laboratory Manager(s), Pathologists and Technologists. _**:

- **_Ensuring requests for services are responded to by the appropriate staff _**

**_WHAT YOU’LL BRING: _**
- **_Successful completion of a Medical Office Support Staff Certification, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. _**:

- **_Preferred knowledge of laboratory test names and equivalents _**

**_WHO YOU ARE: _**
- **_Demonstrated basic knowledge of the Microsoft office suite and good computer skills _**:

- **_Demonstrated customer focused/driven attitude and positive customer philosophy _**:

- **_Accurate keyboarding skills (40 wpm) _**:

- **_Able to use standard office equipment including a computer, laser printer, label printer, fax machine, multifunction photocopier, calculator, and telephone. Slide scanner, slide filer, block filer and other Lab equipment as needed _**:

- **_Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and follow current privacy regulations _**:

- **_Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills _**:

- **_Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively over the telephone, with patients/families, staff and physicians and the community _**:

- **_Demonstrated ability to work independently and use good judgement when making decisions _**:

- **_Demonstrated good team work skills and ability to work collaboratively and promote a positive attitude within the team _**:

- **_Excellent organizational, problem solving and time management skills in a fast-paced environment _**:

- **_Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations _**:
