**TERM**: Full-time position (1.0 FTE), 2-year term, with transition to permanent position after term completion based on performance

**LOCATION**: Hybrid (patient facing activities will require working at Victoria Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre).

**REPORTS TO**: Dr. Rahul Nayak, Director of Research, Division of Thoracic Surgery, London Health Sciences Centre

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate to join our amazing team.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- This will be the main activity of the research associate. Therefore, outstanding writing skills are necessary.
- Perform statistics for manuscripts and grant proposals
- Perform appropriate literature reviews
- Ensuring that all staff members, students and volunteers adhere to recognized guidelines and standards of clinical practice as part of TCPS2, ICH/GCP guidelines, Division 5, federal code of conduct, etc. as applicable.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance
- Develop new study budgets
- Coordinate contract execution, including reviewing and/or negotiating budgets
- Lead or assist with establishing enrolment strategies
- Assist in the development of study budgets
- Monitor and manage research accounts within budgets
- Oversee payments and revenue for studies
- Monitor the overall research funding envelope and suggest strategies for its optimal management.
- Create budget predictions for upcoming years to ensure sustainability of the program
- Assist with clinical trials and submission to Health Canada for a Health Canada Regulated Studies

**QUALIFICATIONS, SKILL AND ABILITIES**
- Master’s degree in epidemiology/clinical trials/health field and/or equivalent field (Essential)
- Experience with clinical trials registration (Essential)
- Data management experience (Essential)
- Statistical skills (descriptive statistics, modeling and more) (Essential)
- Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Office) (Essential)
- Proficiency with statistical software (SPSS, STATA, SAS, or R) (Essential)
- Proficiency with REDcap software (Essential)
- Understanding of research design, procedures, guidelines and standards governing clinical research including Personal Health Information Protection Act (Essential)
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills (Essential)
- Have experience with grant writing. (preferred)
- Have published at least 3 manuscripts as first or senior author (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years clinical research experience (preferred)
- Previous demonstration of sound scientific writing and organizational skills (preferred)
- Have experience with Health Canada regulated clinical trials (Asset)
- Expertise in the field of surgery (Asset)

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Flexibility to work remotely in a hybrid work model that would include both remote work and on-site work.
- Able to be flexible with working hours to help meet deadlines
- Able to work under tight deadlines
- Able to work in a team as well as independently under sometimes very mínimal supervision

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Compliance with LHSC’s Universal COVID-19 Vaccination Policy; and
- Police Record Check

Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
