Job Summary
The Associate Category & Campaign Specialist is a mid-level hybrid role designed to support both Category Management development (upstream product ownership) and Campaign Execution (downstream marketing). This position provides hands-on experience with product strategy, competitive research, pricing support, supplier coordination, campaign development, digital marketing execution, and sales enablement.
This role will be the primary owner of the Rotary category, including burs, finishing, and polishing products, while also providing tactical and research support to the Category Business Manager for Endodontics, and offering marketing and project support to team members leading Digital Dentistry initiatives.
Working closely with Category Business Managers, Campaign Specialists, Digital Marketing, Sales, Clinical Affairs, and vendor partners, this role contributes to the growth of multiple product categories by supporting marketing plans, building campaign assets, managing product content, and learning the fundamentals of category leadership. This position is ideal for a high-potential marketer who wants to grow into a future Category Product or Business Manager
Accountabilities
1. Category Support & Ownership (Upstream)
Rotary Category (Primary Responsibility)
- Manage the rotary product category, including burs, finishing, and polishing lines across all brands and manufacturers. Act as the primary point of contact with brand representatives externally and commercial partners internally.
- Maintain accurate product information, pricing and promotion files, website content, and sales materials.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and promotions within the rotary category.
- Build and update category-specific sales tools (comparison charts, technique sheets, one-pagers and other enablement tools). Act as the subject matter expert for all products, including their clinical applications, within the category.
- Support product lifecycle activities, including updates, discontinuations, new item onboarding, and promotional planning.
- Work under the mentorship of the lead Category Business Manager, using and improving the tools and processes for effectively managing the lifecycle and go-to-market processes, including data and forecasting tools, forms and reports.
Support for Endodontics Category
- Assist the Category Business Manager for Endodontics with research, competitive audits, pricing and promotion checks, and vendor asset coordination and localization.
- Prepare content for endodontic product campaigns, product launches, and sales enablement materials.
- Join relevant vendor or training sessions to build foundational knowledge in endodontic techniques and workflows.
Support for Digital Dentistry Initiatives
- Work with the Digital Dentistry category lead(s) to support marketing for digital workflows, 3D printing hardware (scanners, printers), and related product lines.
- Help prepare content, campaign briefs, landing pages, and training support materials for digital dentistry initiatives.
- Maintain updated product page content, digital workflow guides, and cross-category messaging, while keeping yourself educated on the emerging technologies and topics in dentistry.
2. Campaign Development & Execution (Downstream)
- Build and execute small- to medium-sized marketing campaigns with support from senior team members.
- Write campaign briefs outlining objectives, audiences, key messages, deliverables, and timelines.
- Draft copy for emails, landing pages, social posts, product pages, print collateral, and internal communications.
- Partner with in-house designers to develop on-brand visuals for both digital and print marketing.
- Collaborate with Digital Marketing to execute online tactics, including website updates, email deployment, digital ads, and ecommerce merchandising.
- Contribute category inputs to quarterly marketing calendars for Endodontics, and Digital Dentistry, while driving all marketing campaign activities for your primary category, Rotary.
- · Manage product merchandising, promotions, and performance tracking on Shopify Plus for assigned categories, focusing on developing the pages, merchandising strategy and clinical details to drive on-site conversions or appointment leads.
3. Market Intelligence & Analytics
- Conduct competitive pricing and promotional audits for Rotary and support categories.
- Monitor product page and campaign performance using analytics tools and dashboards.
- Prepare post-campaign reports summarizing performance, insights, and recommendations.
- Track customer inquiries, feedback trends, and content opportunities across assigned product lines.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Category Managers, Campaign Specialists, Sales, Digital Marketing, Operations, and Clinical Affairs.
- Support Sales by preparing training decks, product guides, category snapshots, and comparison tools.
- Attend supplier meetings and internal trainings to gather product insights, assets, and updates.
- Participate in product, technical, and clinical training sessions to build category expertise across Rotary, Endodontics, and Digital Dentistry.
5. Education & Product Knowledge Development
- Participate in quarterly product and technique training (MPEs, vendor sessions, demos).
- Build foundational knowledge of rotary instrumentation, endodontic workflows, digital workflows, and their clinical applications.
- Maintain awareness of new product launches, competitive movements, and category trends.
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in marketing, product marketing, sales, ecommerce, or related roles.
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
- Experience with basic design tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva) is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Shopify, Google Analytics, social ad platforms, or email marketing tools is considered an asset.
- Interest in healthcare, clinical workflows, medical/dental devices, or technical product categories is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Comfort learning digital tools (CMS, CRM, analytics platforms, project management systems).
- Curiosity, initiative, and a desire to grow into a future Product Manager or Category Manager.
