Ausome Ottawa believes every child has the right to play and to reap the physical, mental and social-developmental benefits that go with it. Since 2015, our charity has worked to enrich the lives of children with autism through sport and recreation programs specifically designed to provide individualized support that ensures they can meaningfully participate and succeed. Donations from the community allow Ausome to operate these programs at no or low cost to families. Ausome also trains local coaches, teachers, and sports leaders on how to better support young athletes with autism in their own programs. Our mission is to build an autism-inclusive community, and future, for all.
**Job description**
Are you a dynamo at running fundraising events, securing sponsorships and building community partnerships? Are you passionate about breaking down barriers so local children with autism can build courage, connection and community through sport? If so, you may be our person.
**JOB SUMMARY (40 hours/week, permanent)**
We’re seeking a passionate dynamo to take our revenue generation to the next level. You’ll channel your exceptional corporate event planning, project management, and relationship-building abilities to 1) elevate our signature and third-party events to increase revenue generation, awareness, and participation; and 2) build strategic partnerships with sponsors, local businesses, sport and education leaders, and community organizations. Reporting to the Executive Director, you’ll work both as part of a highly collaborative, goal-oriented, productive team and independently in executing all aspects of events and strategic partnerships. You’ll draw upon your creativity and initiative to pursue new ideas and strategies to ensure Ausome Ottawa has the increased revenue generation secured to meet rising community demand for our services and build capacity for future expansion.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
**SIGNATURE and THIRD-PARTY EVENTS**
- Reimagine existing signature and third-party events to maximize their revenue and impact, and create new ones that increase revenue, awareness and community profile;
- Develop, manage and execute an annual plan for all of Ausome Ottawa’s events, including strategy, goals, logistics, sponsors, volunteers, promotion, deadlines, budget, reporting;
- In collaboration with the Director of Communications, develop and execute marketing plans/decks and collateral for all events and sponsor recognition/stewardship;
- Oversee a growing range and volume of third-party events to ensure the appropriate support, recognition and stewardship is provided;
- Ensure administrative and data management tasks associated with events, sponsors, and strategic partnerships are completed and captured in a thorough, detailed and timely fashion in the CRM, cloud drive and digital platforms (Salesforce, Google Workspace);
**STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS**
- Identify sponsorship opportunities for programs, training and general operations; create compelling value propositions and pitch decks for each;
- Develop, manage and execute an annual plan to strategically match opportunities with sponsors to maximize fit and impact, and achieve revenue targets;
- In collaboration with the Director of Communications, develop and execute marketing plans and collateral for sponsor recognition and stewardship;
- Collaborate with the Program Team on corporate volunteer groups at programs.
- Build partnerships with local pro and amateur athletes and organizations: oversee ticket giveaways, fundraising opps, athlete/mascot appearances at programs and events.
**THE QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-secondary degree in events management, marketing, fundraising, and/or equivalent of training and professional experience;
- 3+ years experience planning and executing high-quality corporate or non-profit events.
- Passionate about raising funds that support young people with autism;
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills, and have applied those skills to develop proposals for sponsors and successfully pitch, secure and steward them;
- Proficient at identifying revenue-generating opportunities and the valuation of assets;
- Results-driven with a proven ability to manage time effectively, set and meet deadlines, establish priorities with mínimal direction, and thrive in a fast-paced environment;
- A resourceful problem-solver with above-average attention to detail, organization, judgment, accuracy, thoroughness and professionalism;
- Value and respect diversity, equity and inclusion, and contribute to a positive and supportive workplace and team culture;
- Strong computer literacy skills, including project management software, CRMs, Google Workspace, online peer-to-peer fundraising software, and social media platforms;
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends;
- Have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle;
