You’re a highly experienced tradesperson who knows a thing or two about training others to get the job done safely and with excellent customer satisfaction every time. You know how to translate your expertise into developing long-term training roadmaps to meet business objectives and implementing effective metrics to drive progression and innovation. With your background and strategic leadership qualities, you’re bound to excel as our Manager, Technical Trades and Operational Learning (TTOL).

In this role, you’ll manage the instructional design and trade instructor teams that create and deliver technical trades training throughout the organization.

Evaluate our current technical trades service, capture the needs of internal customers, and produce a TTOL modernization roadmap to align, build and strengthen the team in support of our business plan.
Introduce optimal key Service Quality Indicators (SQI) that will measure and monitor the quality of the TTOL department.
Produce a development plan for your team to ensure they’re developing their skills to support the roadmap. In year 2, you will:
Implement the TTOL modernization roadmap to further improve the service delivery model, introducing new and innovative ways to develop and sustain worker competencies.
Leverage the performance SQI data to identify opportunities and make improvements and adjustments as necessary to promote continuous improvement.
Action your team development plan alongside the modernization roadmap. What it takes:
A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a technical trade role plus hands-on experience developing and delivering training programs.
Experience working in a trades environment in a management role is considered an asset.
Proven leadership skills to foster a supportive team environment and motivate team members to excel at delivering technical trades training to our internal customers.
Great financial and operational management skills to accurately plan, resource and execute projects.

In this role, you’ll be provided with a degree of flexibility in where your work is performed while meeting business needs. This includes the flexibility to also work full-time from the office as all of our roles require at least some in-person time.
