**Key Responsibilities**:
As our Accounts Receivable & Payable Clerk, you will report to the Accounting Manager, assist with a wide variety of tasks related to the accounting department & day to day operations.

**_Accounts receivable responsibilities include: _**
- Help with preparing monthly invoices and change orders;
- Identify billing errors and ensure the accuracy of billing;
- Reconcile project billings and holdback receivables;
- Follow up with overdue AR accounts and collection calls;
**_Accounts payable responsibilities include: _**
- Verify the accuracy of AP invoices; **_**_

- Credit card reconciliation;
- Subcontractor billing reconciliation;
- Be able to identify billing errors for trucking and equipment rental invoices, such as double billing and non-industry charges;
- Obtain authorization and account coding from relevant management;
- Liaise with vendor enquiries to resolve issues with problem invoices;
- Assist internal and external AP enquires and other duties

**_Administrative _**_Responsibilities include: _**
- Reception and telephone management (land lines and mobile devices);
- Maintenance of filing documents both on server and in hard copy form;
- Office Maintenance & office supply orders;
- Manage record retention and maintenance of customer contracts and compliance requirements;
- Assist with the planning and execution of company-wide social events, corporate culture initiatives, staff birthday notification;
- Assist in general administrative duties within the Accounting department and any other duties as required.

**_Job Qualifications: _**
- High School / Post-Secondary Accounting Education
- Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, knowledge of accounting software (Sage 50 & Quickbooks would be a strong asset)
- Strong organizational skills, able to follow through on procedures and use time effectively, able to manage high volume of work;
- Extremely detail-oriented and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with discretion and to be entrusted with confidential information
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
- Expected to demonstrate accurate keying functions in a timely manner.
- Excellent time management skills, and the ability to meet expectations and requirements, prioritize and handle multiple demands, ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines, eliminates inefficiencies
- Self-sufficient, reliable and able to work largely unsupervised
- Strong communications skills with ability to collaborate with internal teams, customers & vendors
- Own Transportation preferred

**Skills**:

- Previous construction industry experience (strongly preferred)
- Job costing accounting
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written command of the English language)
- Customer service, organizational skills, problem solving
- Strong computer skills with high attention to detail (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, simply accounting)
- Reliable, punctual, ability to work independently
- Detailed orientated

**Compensation and Benefits**:

- Salary: $48,000 - $58,000, starting wage depending on ability and experience
