We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Quality Assurance Specialist (Development) to join our Quality Assurance team in Langley, BC.
Reporting to the Manager, Quality Assurance (Retail), You will be responsible for developing retail and private-branded products and programs that meet Pattison Food Group Ltd. (PFG) food safety and quality standards. This position will help standardize product quality across PFG operations and ensure PFG delivers consistent products to our customers.
You will be responsible for:
- Working closely with merchandising teams on program development; conducting technical and risk-based reviews to ensure all food safety and quality aspects have been considered for new developments.- Reviewing product specifications against applicable regulations and brand requirements.- Conducting sensory evaluations to validate product attributes and reporting results to make recommendations to the business team.- Coordinating lab testing for shelf life, food safety, food quality, or nutritional analysis as needed.- Inspecting finished products against applicable quality standards.- Developing, submitting, and maintaining corporate food safety plans and sanitation plans.- Supporting development, maintenance and validating standard operating procedures for in-store programs.- Supporting product recall communications, complaint investigation, corrective actions, and resolution.- Remaining up to date on food safety and quality trends, issues, and initiatives in the food industry.
You have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Public Health or other relevant discipline.- 3-5 years’ experience in food safety, quality assurance, auditing, supply chain, compliance or other relevant experience.- HACCP certification.- Thorough and in-depth understanding of HACCP, CFIA Regulations, Provincial food premise regulations, GFSI.- The ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs on a repetitive basis.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

- An effective communicator (both written and verbal) with the flexibility to adapt to various audiences and stakeholders.- Proficient in problem solving, analytics, presentation and report writing.- Understanding of retail environment and the challenges.

$70,110.00 - $87,638.00
The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
