We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time temporary Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our Food Safety team in Langley, BC.
This temporary position is expected to last 12 months.
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining Pattison Food Group’s Supplier Compliance, Quality Assurance Import Control, and Recall Program.
You will be responsible for:
- Documenting and maintaining the supplier compliance and non-compliance database and assisting suppliers in achieving compliance through coaching on certifications and licensing procedures.
- Reviewing, validating, and approving certifications, licensing documents and suppliers.
- Monitoring food safety related complaints & follow up on supplier investigation and corrective actions.
- Monitoring and responding to recalls and ensuring compliance and traceability.
- Supporting the maintenance and update of permits, licenses, and registration related to import.
- Maintaining and updating knowledge on import requirements and restrictions.
- Developing and maintaining Importer Preventive Control Plans.
- Coordinating with various departments for import control and related regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and handling non-compliance issues.
- Liaising between suppliers, regulatory agencies and companies.
- Supporting with any other administrative tasks that may be required.
You have:
- A bachelor's degree in Food Science, Public Health or a related discipline.
- 1 - 2 years of experience in food safety, auditing, sourcing, and customs/importing.
- Training or Certification in international trade, customs compliance and/or GFSI (considered an asset).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A solid understanding of HACCP, CFIA/USDA regulations.
- Experience in Produce quality and importing (considered an asset).
- Flexibility to monitor recalls on weekends and stat holidays.

- An effective communicator, both written and verbal with strong interpersonal skills.
- A strong problem-solver with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Able to confidently and professionally coach suppliers through certification and licensing process.
- An analytical thinker with the ability to assess risk levels.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.

Compensation Details:
$58,720.00 - $73,400.00
The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
