This role is part of an exciting program currently being launched at SEED, the EDGE Program (funded by OSD). We’re looking for individuals who are comfortable with change, eager to contribute to a new initiative, and ready to help shape its success from the ground up.

The EDGE Program is an early intervention program that provides targeted employment focused programing for youth (ages 18-26), who are connected to Employment Support Income Assistance (ESIA), or at risk of becoming connected. As the program is delivered entirely online, they will engage with youth in a virtual setting.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Workshop Facilitator & Post Intervention Support is responsible for content development, facilitating all employment related workshops and providing post-intervention support to youth who have advanced to employment.

**Duties**:

- Educate and enhance youth skills by developing and facilitating workshops on a range of topics (effective job search strategies, resume & cover letter preparation, networking, life skills, and other employability skills).
- Implement instruction techniques that are suitable for a variety of learning styles and virtual learning
- Incorporate diversity to create a safe and welcoming space
- Create and review weekly self-reflection assignments for the youth
- Organize and facilitate training for youth as well as arrange guest speakers that relate to employment development
- Develop content that increases employability and life/career skills while focusing on building self-confidence, empowerment and community awareness.
- Evaluate results and outcomes, modify content (as required)
- Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research. Provide details to program manager for LaMPSS reporting
- Keep accurate records of participant progress and insights gathered during workshops
- Attend a weekly case management meeting with all EDGE staff to discuss youth progress and updates
- Provide post-intervention support to youth once they have become employed to enhance their ability to remain connected to employment
- Must be willing to cross train and assume other duties as needed

**Qualifications**
- Degree or post-secondary education in Adult Education or related field of study (or a combination of education and work experience).
- Two (2) years experience in workshop facilitation
- Understanding of adult learning principles
- Experience facilitating in a virtual setting and strong computer skills
- Facilitation skills and a strong understanding of employment topics including resume development, skills development, financial literacy, networking, etc.
- Experience creating and facilitating employment workshops
- Ability to design, organize and implement group sessions with diverse groups
- Experience working with youth attached to ESIA, including having a clear understanding of the relevant government policies
- Ability to recognize existing barriers to employment frequently present with OSD clients (poverty, education, home life, life skills, etc.) especially those connected to ESIA
- Excellent knowledge of community supports and resources, and ability to incorporate this into workshop content
- Demonstrated understanding of learning styles and their impact on participants’ ability to engage and participate fully
- Experience with case management and providing one on one support
- Demonstrated discretion and sound judgement in the handling of confidential information, a high degree of integrity and trust
- High level of initiative is needed to work independently
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Willing to cross train and assume other responsibilities as necessary
