**Description**

Barber Collins security is looking for a full time Security Guard to go between two of our clients facilitues. This position requires a security guard who is reliable, dependable and willing to commute. _This positions locations is outside of Waterloo in a town called St. Jacob's and Waterloo itself._

**Access to a personal vehicle will be mandatory for this position.**

**Shifts**
- there will be a mandatory 2-week rotation._

Wednesday and Thursday from 11 pm to 7 am and Friday and Saturday from 10 pm to 10 am
- 40 hours per week
- Night shift
- Monday and Tuesday off

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain a the gate and truck entrance and communicate/direct the individual accordingly.
- Fulfill tasks and duties accordingly for the gate and truck entrance.
- Conduct regular foot patrols of the facility.
- Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
- Access control for the facility/area.
- Ensuring that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
- Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.

**Skills**:

- Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
- Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $21.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekend availability
