Training Specialist (SCTR)

The **Screening Contractor Training Representative (SCTR)** is primarily responsible for the training of Screening Officers in accordance with our training program requirements and guidelines, including various software and systems. This is a unionized position
- strict seniority will be observed.

**Responsibilities**
- Deliver on-the-job training, including but not limited to requisite post-course practical training and refresher courses, Performance Improvement and Performance Expectation Plans (PIP/PER) and training requirements, and other security and customer service training (ex. practice sessions)
- Deliver PASS training content and programs
- Delivers and/or oversees RLP, Return to Work (RTW), post certification OJT, CATSA refresher training
- Monitor tests and assessments related to all elements of our training program
- Supervise screening personnel's participation in practical skill development sessions
- Implement training for new operating procedures and support new hire orientation training
- Provide recommendations on certification maintenance
- Develop rapport and credibility within Screening Officer population to increase effectiveness of training interactions
- Demonstrate positive partnership with our client to support training programs
- Facilitate refresher sessions, such as reviewing SOP changes, new operational bulletins / advisories, or new screening initiatives
- Hands-on training, such as HHMD screening techniques
- Increase the screening knowledge by providing specific certification training to the screening personnel population
- Video briefings on the importance of the Screening Officer role; for example, showing events in the past relating to aviation screening
- Facilitate other material as deemed operationally appropriate for the screening personnel
- Perform other training team tasks as assigned
- Travel to airports within the region as required

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 12 months experience working as a certified screening officer
- Minimum of 12 months with no PERS
- Participate in all aspects of training to achieve Screening Contractor Training Representative status
- Training specialists will serve a 90-day probationary period after successful completion of SCTR qualification
- Must be open and willing to travel to other airports to support training efforts within the prairie’s region
- Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
- Ability to coach, correct and mentor Screening Officers
- Ability to work with others in a team environment and independently
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be attentive to detail with exceptional customer service skills
- Flexible to work within a 24/7 operation in which schedules could change as per training requirements and operation
- Achieved 90% on National X-Ray Exam
- Achieved 90% on PBS RLP Knowledge Exam
- Fluency in French would be considered an asset
