**Salary**: $2,987.65 to $3,868.94 bi-weekly ($77,977 to $100,979 / year)
The Ministry of Children and Family Services funds programs and services to support vulnerable children, youth, families, and individuals to live safely and succeed in Alberta. This includes providing services and resources to protect children and youth from abuse and neglect, and effectively address harm that has placed them in need of intervention. Mentoring and support services are available to youth transitioning into healthy, productive adults. The ministry also invests in community-based groups that support prevention and early intervention services such as Family Resource Networks, youth emergency shelters as well as programs that raise awareness and help respond to family violence, sexual violence, and abuse.
**Role Responsibilities**:

Join the Child Intervention Delivery Division, Provincial Campus Based Care (PCBC) branch as a Practice Specialist, where you'll play a critical role in leading the development and delivery of specialized training for frontline staff at Provincial Campus Based Care (PCBC).
PCBC centers across the province offer 24/7 trauma informed care and secure services for vulnerable youth (ages 12 -17 receiving child intervention services) and their families. PCBC’s integrate best practices to help youth reach their potential and address emotional and behavioral therapeutic needs.
Reporting to the Provincial Manager, the Practice Specialist will ensure staff are equipped with current, relevant training aligned with best practices—empowering them to make informed, compassionate decisions that have a lasting impact on the lives of Alberta’s most at-risk children and families.
This position requires a high level of skill in the areas of communication, collaboration, and coordination. Occasional travel is an expectation of the role to other Provincial Campus Based Care sites.
**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Recruitment Standard**: A Bachelor’s of Social Work or related and 2 year of related experience
**Equivalency**:
- Master of Social Work and 1-year related experience; OR
- Related university degree and 4 years related experience; OR
- Related diploma and 5 years related experience; OR
- Related certificate and 6 years related experience
- A post-secondary degree in Social Services or a related field such as Adult Education, Organizational Development, or Counselling Psychology; a Master’s degree (e.g., Counselling Psychology or Social Work) is considered an asset with minimum of 1 year of directly related experience in a relevant field
- Strong knowledge of child intervention systems and Residential Facilities Licensing Regulation
- Familiarity with the Therapeutic Crisis intervention
- Experience in designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating adult learning and training programs
- Proficiency in current and emerging adult learning methodologies, including online training tools and delivery platforms
- Awareness of Ministry business strategies, priorities, programs, and resources
- Knowledge of Government of Alberta (GoA) learning and development strategies and initiatives
- Current certification in First Aid with CPR and Suicide Intervention
- Class 5 valid driver’s license (mandatory)
