Financial Analyst

**Your Opportunity**:

- Determination of costs for assets, disposals, and depreciation in accordance with Conservation Halton’s capitalization policies and PSAS
- Ensure appropriate asset class and tracking/compiling of asset costs and work in progress related to projects and constructed fixed assets as well as review for obsolete assets
- Assist and prepare fixed asset schedules for year-end requirements
- Timely completion of month-end, quarter-end and year-end close journal entries
- Reconciliation of the balances in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger
- Ensuring accuracy of capital asset entries and balances
- Review Tangible Capital Asset policy for updates
- Support departmental process improvement though updates to policies, templates, tracking and reporting tools
- Contribute to the development of procurement models & tools.
- Provide support for departments currently engaged in Procurement activity in a client support capacity
- Support preparation of formal solicitation documents posted on an electronic platform for the procurement of commodities, services, and construction contractors
- Support in the evaluation of solicited bids & vendor submissions to determine commercial compliance (Insurances, WSIB & applicable Terms & Conditions) and conduct financial evaluations
- Support with contract administration
- Coordinate procurement training for other internal stakeholders including scheduling dates/times, updating training materials, managing participants lists and proof of training
- Schedule and coordinate meetings including drafting agendas, compiling, and distributing presentation materials; and recording meeting minutes when required
- Prepare other analysis as requested by management and auditors as needed

**Your Qualifications**:

- 1-3 years of experience and/or exposure to working in a finance, accounting environment
- Post-secondary Accounting degree.
- Enrolled in and working towards a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
- High proficiency in MS Office suite with Excel in particular
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
- Knowledge of Great Plains accounting software would be an asset
- Knowledge of Public Sector Account Board (PSAB) requirements would be an asset
