The vision of Careers & Experience is for all Western graduates to have the skills and confidence to thoughtfully engage in communities and build a meaningful life and career. **Responsibilities**: The Experiential Learning Coordinator leads the development and delivery of experiential learning opportunities in the Faculty of Social Science, with a particular focus on work-integrated learning (e.g., internships). The role promotes the value of experiential learning to students in the Faculty of Social Science through workshops, classroom visits, and other on and off-campus events. The Coordinator collaborates with the faculty to establish goals for accelerated growth of student participation in work integrated learning, and to identify methods for assessment and reporting on outcomes. The Experiential Learning Coordinator is a member of the Experiential Learning unit within the Careers & Experience department and contributes to the goal of every student graduating with at least one experiential learning activity. **Qualifications**: **Education**: - University degree in Administration, Social Science or another related field **Experience**: - 3 years' experience working in higher education, in experiential learning or industry/community engagement, including supervising and working with volunteers and students - Experience with internship program coordination is preferred - Experience working in a career-related counselling/coaching environment is preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment - Understanding of experiential learning theory, principles, and best practices - Proven ability to effectively manage a project from beginning to end - Well-developed presentation and public-speaking skills - Strong commitment to customer service, including needs assessment, program evaluation and continuous improvement - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment - Ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to timelines - Effective meeting facilitation skills with multiple and varied stakeholders - Proven ability and natural inclination to develop relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful, and diplomatic manner - Creative problem-solving skills and sound professional judgement, especially regarding confidential/sensitive matters; ability to work in a manner that is compliant with confidentiality requirements - Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite **Western Values Diversity**: **Please Note**: Effective September 7, 2021, all employees and visitors to campus are required to comply with Western's COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
