We seek excellent students, faculty, and staff to join us in what has become known as the "Western Experience" - an opportunity to contribute to a better world through the development of new knowledge, new abilities, new connections, and new ways to make a difference. **About Us**: The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), three large Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, Applied Health Sciences and Advanced Health Care Practice and four Research Centres. The Faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 PhD students). **Responsibilities**: The Experiential Learning Coordinator (Students) supports and oversees the development and delivery of experiential learning opportunities in the Faculty of Health Science, with a particular focus on students and faculty. The Coordinator promotes the value of experiential learning to students in the Faculty of Health Science through workshops, classroom visits, and other on and off-campus events, while collaborating with Faculty to establish goals for the accelerated growth of student participation in experiential learning, and to identify methods for assessment and reporting on outcomes. The Experiential Learning Coordinator (Students) is a member of the Experiential Learning unit within the Academic Programs and contributes to the goal of every student graduating with at least one experiential learning activity. **Qualifications**: - Education: - University degree in Health Science, Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Science or other related field - Courses completed in Human Resources or Career Advising - Experience: - 3 years of experience working in higher education, in experiential learning or industry/community engagement, including supervising and working with volunteers and students - Experience with internship program coordination is preferred - Experience working in a career-related counselling/coaching environment is preferred - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Knowledge of relevant external partners with an ability to align their needs with the competencies of students in the program - Ability to assess clients’ needs, suggest options, overcome objections, and move forward with partnerships - Communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with all levels of the organization with the ability to summarize information and disseminate to others effectively in a timely manner - Demonstrated ability to understand and resolve external and internal partner issues - Project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously from conception to completion within tightly prescribed timelines - Ability to research and keep up-to-date on emerging trends and best practices in the field - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to multi-task and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment - Understanding of experiential learning theory, principles and best practices - Proven ability to effectively manage a project from beginning to end - Well-developed presentation and public-speaking skills - Strong commitment to customer service, including needs assessment, program evaluation and continuous improvement - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment - Ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to timelines - Effective meeting facilitation skills with multiple and varied stakeholders - Proven ability and natural inclination to develop relationships by interacting with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner - Creative problem-solving skills and sound professional judgement, especially regarding confidential/sensitive matters; ability to work in a manner that is compliant with confidentiality requirements - Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite **Western Values Diversity**: **Please Note**: Effective September 7, 2021, all employees and visitors to campus are required to comply with Western's COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
